When we think of the Portage Lakes area, we think of a strong community with hard working people; an impressive school system; and quaint neighborhoods. With all of the community having students studying hard and people working quite a bit, there should be a place where they can all get together and catch up or study or have that moment to yourself where you aren’t hustled by daily life. This was the attraction we saw here at Muggswigz Coffee and Tea Company.
We plan on opening a shop in the Portage Lakes area very soon. We are looking for a starting staff of baristas who want to share their passion for coffee and tea and also learn more about the craft. We are looking for potential hires with professionalism, great service skills, who think on their feet, and, of course, have a passion for coffee and tea!
We were honored to be invited to judge the best of Antioquia coffee growing competition in Colombia. We cupped hundreds of coffees with a couple dozen other cuppers from around the world. Got to enjoy some great discussions with farmers. And found a coffee we liked so much that we bought the entire production of the farm for the year and were able to pay him three times what he normally gets since the mill was willing to keep his coffee separate! Good job Hector!
America's Best Espresso
Our production espresso blend was a semi-finalist for the America's Best Espresso Competition! Here we are competing in NYC!
We have partnered with the Canton Museum of Art to create a fun coffee tasting event! Your sampling skills will be enhanced with a little guidance from the guest baristas - you'll learn the origins of different coffee beans and the nuances of exquisite roasts with this curated tour. Specialty desserts will be provided by Hazel & Rye bakery. $10 per person includes coffee tasting, desserts, and a guided coffee talk.
